 Maisha Hazzard is the youngest child of a scientist turned metaphysician in the disguise of a United Methodist minister. Science and Spirituality were integrated aspects of life first discussed in ordinary conversations about all matter as energy or light and all light as the very essence of God. E=MC2 was understood to mean that “that which is visible was made from that which is invisible”. Our true Nature as Light made visible in flesh was a common household understanding.
While still in high school, Maisha was introduced to the mystical writings of Meister Eckhart, Martin Luther, Kierkegaard, Martin Buber, and others as she was simultaneously spending Saturdays in advanced classes like organic chemistry. When she was still a teenager, she was taken on a mystical journey during which she was shown that the Universe is the “body of God”, and everything is like a cell in the body of God. Each “cell” has within it the full Intelligence of the Cosmic One that can unfold to replicate the full Nature of the Divine. This, she learned, is mirrored in the way every cell in our human bodies has within it the DNA code that is complete with full knowledge or Intelligence to replicate the entire body. She was shown that the potential to fully express the Divine is ever present but must be activated by clear and deliberate intention and spiritual practice.
Maisha Hazzard holds advanced degrees in Communication (Ph.D.); Transpersonal Psychology (Ph.D.); Behavioral Science (M.A.); and Metaphysics (M.Msc.). Other graduate studies have included Information Science, Neuroscience, Comparative Religion, International Studies, Telecommunications, Education, Performing Arts, and Cultural Studies at various universities and institutes in the United States and West Africa. In the late 1970s, while preparing to take the entrance examination for medical school, she was shown visions of an emerging field of medicine based on quantum mechanics and consciousness. She abandoned the allopathic medicine career path and entered a Ph.D. program in Communication. At the same time she continued her independent studies in metaphysics, quantum physics, energy psychology, new biology, energy medicine, and consciousness. Dr. Hazzard has spent more than 20 years as a university professor and international consultant in Telecommunications, Information Technology, International Studies, Behavior Change Communication, Media and Performing Arts, and Education on five continents. She has taught, lectured, produced, and performed in India, Jamaica, Barbados, Guyana, Brazil, Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, South Africa, France, Canada, and the United States.
Maisha Hazzard's early studies in metaphysics were facilitated by her father, Dr. Walter R. Hazzard (Ph.D.-Sacred Theology, Temple University), Dr. Joseph Murphy (New Thought author and teacher), the Rosicrucian Order (AMORC), professors in the Department of Religion at the University of Cape Coast in Ghana, and Dr. da Silva, curator and principle investigator at the Museu Afro-Brasileiro in Salvador de Bahia in Brazil in 1977.
Maisha Hazzard is a New Thought-Ancient Wisdom minister, ordained in the Church of Religious Science in 1995 and in the Agape International Movement in 2007. She served as associate minister and dean of the Metaphysical Evolvement Center at City of Angels Church of Religious Science under her good friend and brother, Dr. O. C. Smith. She is now part of the ministerial staff at the Agape International Spiritual Center under the leadership of Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith. She is also co-founder and president of Khepra International Ministries and co-creator of Khepra's healing energy process, Heart-Mind Transformation. |
